A few updates to share with our head coaches:
1. As previously noted, we are looking to provide an update every other day on the practice schedule starting this Friday and will continue until complete.
2. While we have created a game schedule (all of baseball & 5/6YO softball), it is not officially locked down until we upload it to Team Central. Once that occurs, parents will receive notice of the schedule. We are aware of a handful of conflicts where we double booked those head coaching more than one team. We will resolve those.
3. The softball game schedule for 7/8YO, 9/10YO and 11/13YO will be provided by WCPR and should be ready at the end of this month or in early March.
4. Unfortunately, the weather doesn’t look very good in the evenings next week. Let’s continue to watch. Here is our weather approach - click here.
5. We haven’t scheduled our head coach Zoom calls but will do that within the next week. These 30-minute calls are intended to review items for the season and hope all of our head coaches will attend.
6. You can find the rules on our website under Rules of Play. We have been making recent edits for the upcoming season.
7. What we provide head coaches:
- We will provide all our teams with game balls. Once received, please make sure to hold these until the games.
- We will provide our 7YO to 11/12YO teams with one set of catcher’s gear. You will keep this gear for the season and then return it to us at your last game. Some head coaches treat the gear well and others don’t. So asking everyone to help us on that.
- We will provide our 3/4YO teams with a batting tee since their play will occur off a tee. Any others for 6YO & Younger can be provided upon request if we have any remaining.
- We do not provide practice balls. We have a few we might be able to provide for those new to head coaching. It becomes a bit of a black hole when we provide, which means we often do not get them back. So, we have a limited supply if needed.
- The coach pick up date for catcher's equipment, batting tees and game balls (for baseball & for 5/6YO softball) is currently planned for 8:30AM on 02/22 in front of the clubhouse at Civitan Park. Softball game balls for 7/8YO, 9/10YO and 11/13YO will be supplied to us from WCPR and those are not available yet.
And lastly, we will provide contact info to the head coach in each division. We have already shared the 7YOs/8YOs for baseball and the 9YOs/10YOs for baseball as there were some immediate needs for that.
