Basketball Update

Parents and coaches,
We have a busy basketball game schedule this Friday and Saturday. Since we do not have access to the gyms at Lipscomb and Edmondson next Saturday (02/03), some teams have their last regular season game this weekend.

The last day of practices is 02/01.

The next weekend, while we finish up our remaining regular season games, our in-house tournament will start.

Some timing details to be aware of are as follows:
1. Our Pre-K/Kindergarten and 5/6YO Girl teams have their final game on 02/03. Each player in those divisions will receive a participation trophy, which will have their name on the trophy. These divisions do not have a tournament.
2. Our lone 11/12YO Girls team, our two 15/16YO Boys teams and our lone 17/18YO Boys team will play in the county tournament.
3. Our remaining divisions, excluded above, will play in our in-house tournament.
4. The 13/14YO Boys and 5th Grade Boys North divisions will start their in-house tournament on 02/03.
5. The remaining divisions, which represent ~100 teams, will start their in-house tournament on 02/04.
6. The in-house tournament will be completed on 02/10.

Regarding how the tournament works, some items to be aware of are:
1. Teams are seeded based on games completed as of 01/27. Better seed is the home team throughout the tournament.
2. Our in-house brackets can be found by clicking here. While a few seeds are already known, we will have the remaining added this Sunday (evening).
3. Our in-house team standings can be found by clicking here. If you want to see a summarized view for which divisions play when for the tournament, click here and scroll down to the tournament section.
4. For our in-house tournament, individual trophies will be awarded to the champion and runner-up in each division.
5. This is a single-elimination tournament. Overtime rules will apply if any games in regulation end in a tie.
6. The home team will continue to keep the scorebook for the in-house tournaments.
7. The system will not send game reminders out so each parent will need to follow their bracket.
