WINTER 2023/2024 BASKETBALL – Girls Divisions
Season Summary: Practices will start the first weekend in November, games will start the first weekend in December and the season concludes with a tournament at the start of February.

What the Registration Player Fees includes:
· Weekly practice space
· 8-scheduled league games
· End of season tournament
· Game day support – gym supervisor, referees, scoreboard operator
· Player reversible shirt
· Head coach shirt
Teams are required to provide an adult to run the scoreboard/clock or keep the scorebook, depending on the age division. This applies for the home team of each game that is Brentwood versus Brentwood.
In lieu of a tournament, the Pre-K and Kindergarten teams will receive a participation trophy at their 8th and final scheduled game.
How Registration Occurs
· Parents log into their account and register their individual player. To the right of their player’s name, they click Programs Available. In that process, we will collect information about the player to include coach request, teammate request, school, grade, neighborhood, shirt size and skill info.
· Parents in registering will be required to accept our medical waiver, our media waiver, our behavioral agreement and agree to the registration refund policy.

Coaches
· Anyone desiring to be a head coach must create a volunteer record and then submit to a background check. Checks are required every 3 years.
· In the process of creating the volunteer record, we will capture from the coach their gym preferences for practice and their top three preferred weekly practice days.
· We provide a team shirt to the head coach, so it is clear to the officials and workers as to who the head coach is.
Practice Info
· Our weekly 60-minute practice times will occur at Crockett, Jordan, Lipscomb and Edmondson Elementary schools.
· Weekday practice times start around 6:00PM (after SAAC). Sunday practice starts at 1PM. And before games start, we will also schedule practice time using the first two Saturdays of November.
· Teams will be paired for practices with another like team as most will use the last part of their practice to scrimmage the team at the other half court.
· If practicing during the week, our youngest age divisions will get the earliest start times with our oldest getting the later times.
· Practice times will be set 10/15 or earlier.
Where Games Are Played
· Home games will occur at one of our Brentwood gyms: Crockett Elementary, Jordan Elementary, Lipscomb Elementary, Edmondson Elementary and Williamson County Indoor Rec Center (920 Heritage Way).
· We will use Brentwood Middle School in December but do not anticipate that gym to be available in January or February.
When Games Are Played
· League Game Days will be scheduled on Dec 2, 9, 16; Jan 6, 13, 20, 27; Feb 3
· While games will last less than one hour, teams will typically have 5-10 minutes to warm up before a game.
· The in-house tournament will start right after the last league game, Feb 4 (Sunday), and is likely to occur every day until the championships on or by Feb 10.
· For those divisions we do not have an in-house tournament (those with less than 4 teams in a rec division), they will participate in the county wide tournament.
· We do not have a tournament for our 5/6YOs, but each player will receive a participant trophy at their last game on Feb 3.
Scheduling Notes
· When Williamson County schools are closed due to weather, practices are typically cancelled.
· In the event of weather that results in school closing, we will attempt to make those games up if possible. We will not refund as a result of cancellations.
· No activities for the season will occur during Thanksgiving Break and Christmas Break. When Williamson County schools are closed due to weather, practices are typically cancelled.
Coed Divisions
Pre-K, Kindergarten (IN-HOUSE ALL BRENTWOOD VS BRENTWOOD)
· Division: Coed
· Format: 5x5
· Goal Height: 8’
· Ball Size: 27.5”
· Foul line: 10’
· Defense is limited to player-to-player (man-to-man) only.
· Team rosters are set based on parent requests and schools.
· This division would only play Brentwood vs Brentwood teams, most likely at Crockett Elementary.
Girls Divisions
Division 5/6YOs (IN-HOUSE ALL BRENTWOOD VS BRENTWOOD)
· Format: 5x5
· Goal Height: 8’
· Ball Size: 27.5”
· Foul line: 10’
· Defense is limited to player-to-player (man-to-man) only.
· Team rosters are set based on parent requests and schools.
· This division will play Brentwood vs Brentwood teams.
Note: Most girls at this age also have the option to play Coed PreK and Kindergarten.
Division 2nd/3rd Graders (7/8YOs; IN-HOUSE ALL BRENTWOOD VS BRENTWOOD)
· Format: 5 x 5
· Goal Height: 8’
· Ball Size: 27.5”
· Foul line: 12’
· Defense: Each team must play a one-on-one defense until the final two minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime. No back court defense is allowed until the last two minutes of game.
· Team rosters are to be based on parent requests, schools and skill level.
· Note1: If we have enough players and are able to separate by grades, we will.
· Note2:Plans are to have this division only play Brentwood vs Brentwood teams.
Division 4th/5th Graders (9/10YOs; IN-HOUSE ALL BRENTWOOD VS BRENTWOOD)
· Format: 5 x 5
· Goal Height: 9’
· Ball Size: 28.5”
· Foul line: 14’
· Defense: Each team must play a one-on-one defense during the first half. No back court defense is allowed until the 4th quarter of game.
· Team rosters are to be based on parent requests, schools and skill level.
· Note1: If we have enough players and are able to separate by grades, we will.
· Note2: Plans are to have this division only play Brentwood vs Brentwood teams.
Division 11/12YOs
· Format: 5 x 5
· Goal Height: 10’
· Ball Size: 28.5”
· Foul line: 15’
· Teams will play other teams across Williamson County and will follow the cross league rules governed by WCPR
· Team rosters are to be based on parent requests, schools attending and skill level.
Refunds
Last day to request a refund is 09/22/23. The refund up to 09/22/23 will be the amount paid minus the $3 service fee minus a $20 processing fee. The refund after 09/22/23 is $0.
