*********************************************
Because 8YO is the first year we start open division play, there are options to consider.

8YO Option #1

  1. Have divisions as Recreation and Open.
  2. The distinct difference at this age is that open division is a stop the runner format whereas Rec Division uses the rules from our recent league play.
  3. The rec divisions rosters will be created with head coaches protecting 6 players and drafting the rest.
  4. Open division rosters are created by head coaches through tryouts or invitations. No players are drafted.

8YO Option#2
Have a Majors and a Minors Divisions

Majors = Protect 8 and draft remaining players whereas
Minors = Protect 6 and draft the rest

7/8YO Option #3
7/8YO Minors – targeted for 7YOs and then any 8YOs not ready to advance

7/8YO Majors – targeted for 8YOs and any above average 7YOs
