What We Sent To Head Coaches

Our parks open tomorrow and below are the coach actions we need to occur and need your cooperation for. We suggest you designate at least two of the parents on your team to help with the process and to also hold you accountable when you need a reminder – hey coach, don’t forget we cannot huddle and so on. It is hard enough coaching to add this so that is why we request you get the parent’s help.

Every player, coach and official must complete the TN Pledge Guidelines Acknowledgement form. The forms are in the Links section of our website along with the TN Pledge Guidelines. This is a one-time requirement.

It would be helpful to have parents print and sign and hand to us upon arrival.

The requirements differ between the county park (Civitan) and the city parks (Crockett and Granny White). The county expects the parents to screen the players prior to arrival to include checking their temperature. At the city parks, we are expected to screen daily.

For the city parks, there will be five questions asked by workers of players (through parents):

1.     Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14- days?

2.     Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?

3.     Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?

4.     Have you had any new loss of taste or smell?

5.     Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?

If answered Yes to any of the above questions, you will not be allowed in the park. The workers will have temperature checkers at Crockett and Granny White.

A pre-practice check by Coaches must occur to ensure each player has their own bat, cap and glove and to ensure no one is sharing equipment, water, etc.

Further guidelines for the coaches:

Social distancing would apply in every aspect possible on the field. No handshake lines after the game, no high fives, no team huddles, always 6’ a part, etc.

Usage of the dugouts will be limited to the coaches storing game equipment.
Wear masks where possible.
No sunflower seed spitting or gum chewing should occur.
The concession stand will not be allowed to be open. Individuals should bring their own personal beverages to the park. Ensure no one is sharing.
