We have our first 12YO & Younger baseball games tomorrow for the Fall Season. Here are notables for your awareness:

- We do not have a phone line for weather alerts or weather questions (i.e. is the field open today, etc). We will provide an update on Twitter (@bwoodcivitan), we will update the field status link on our website and if anything is closed due to weather, we will send an email blast.
- We do not keep score for the baseball games during the fall season. And as such, we won’t have the scoreboards turned on for any of the games this fall. The time for games will be kept on the field, by umpires at 7YO and older.
- And as we don’t keep score, it won’t be uncommon in the fall for one team to borrow a fielder or two on defense from the opposing team if a team is short players.
- The concession stand will be open all dates for the games currently scheduled. It will be open tomorrow morning by 8:30AM.

We shared some messaging with coaches on Thursday primarily on rules that we indicated at the time we would share with all parents. Here is that info:
- Teams do not warm up in the infield prior to the game. They all warm up in the outfield.
- For ALL age divisions, no bat larger than 2-1/4” diameter may be used unless it has the USA Baseball stamp on it. Use of illegal bats is a called out.
- At 4/5YO, players go one base on a batted ball. No outs are recorded. Players are not removed from the base on an out.
- At 6YO, for a ball batted to the outfield, a batter may take two bases. No extra bases on an overthrow. Runners out are to be removed from the base. Each team still bats all batters every inning.
- At 7YO & 8YO, we use 4 outfielders. Pitching coaches exit the field once a ball is batted into play and cannot coach runners. They are silent. And, the play stops when the pitcher on defense is in the circle and raises their arms.
- At 9/10YO, we only use 3 outfielders. The infield fly rule is used for this age and older.
- At 11/12YO, we do call drop third strikes and balks per pitcher after each receive a warning.
