To Parents & Coaches: 10/15 Basketball Update

A few updates

Today is the day we plan to start distributing rosters to our head coaches. These will first come out this evening as preliminary to head coaches with a brief window for head coach feedback (i.e. if changes are desired). Additionally on rosters:
- The majority of our rosters are based on parent requests for a specific head coach or specific teammate. Many, but not all, are met.
- For head coaches, some have more requests than roster spots.
- For teammate requests, they may be tied to a head coach request for a team that is full so that impacts teammate pairing.
- We also at our older (5th, 6th, 7th grade) boys divisions try to separate based on skill so some teammate requests may not be able to be met. We do that at these ages because we don't have a North and South division where we can separate teams by skill.
- We do have a few head coaches that are still working to complete some required training. This would hold up their rosters so hoping the training is completed soon.
- We were not able to place all our 11/12YO Girls due to only having one head coach.
- We have also been short for 3rd grade Boys (to be able to place all players) but believe we may have found someone. We are hoping to work that out later today.

We will send a separate email out on sponsoring a team or new this year - an entire division. We were waiting to finalize our uniform shirts, which we have, and which are more expensive than we planned. But the quality is higher, and we think everyone will really like them.

We are still working with Scales Elementary to replace the scoreboard there. We anticipate having this done before games start on 12/06. This will be the 5th school we have replaced a scoreboard.

For our practice schedule, we have more blackout dates for our schools than in the past. What a blackout date means is that we cannot schedule at the school on a specific date, such as a Thursday, and as a result of that, that typical Thursday for a team is moved to a different day and gym. We do anticipate releasing some of our practice schedule this evening. The game schedule will be set in early November.
