We want to make sure all parents, coaches and workers are aware as to how we communicate the field status at Civitan Park, Granny White Park, Crockett Park and Fly Park so below provides those details. We recommend you follow us on Twitter for the most up to date info as on a weekend, we may tweet a few times on updates. And once games or practices start in the evening, we may or may not have access to send an email blast. Our Twitter account is “@bwoodcivitan”.
As Civitan Park is located behind the Lipscomb Elementary School, our field and club personnel do not have access to the park during the week until 4:00PM when school is in session. Here are our three steps in the order they will occur, each around 4:00PM during the week if we are impacted by weather:
1. We will tweet Civitan Park is closed when applicable.
2. We will update the “field status” link on our website by 4:00PM. We will only update a field change (i.e. open to closed from previous day, closed to open from the previous day).
3. If the park will be closed, we will send an email blast. We will not send an email blast to note we are open.
Our Saturday status for Civitan Park will be made around 7:30AM while our Sunday update will occur around 11:00AM. In the event weather impacts us during the day on a weekend, we will tweet updates and update the field status link on the website. We may or may not send email updates.
For Crockett Park and Granny White Park, the city of Brentwood will update their hotlines (615-373-7752 and 615-373-8310), typically around 4:00PM during the week and around 8:00AM on the weekends. As soon as we know the updates, we will tweet, update the field status on the website and send a blast if closed.
If you look at the field status and do not see a park listed, that means a decision has not been made yet. But, an update will occur at some point.
For Fly Park, we will get an email from WCPR and will share that with our head coaches. We will do the same on softball game night for any other parks our teams are playing at.
