We
had had a couple of emails to our head coaches on practice handling and wanted to
share that info with each of you as the coaches will need your help.
For
our upcoming practices, a new requirement is that each team must have at least
two “Team Volunteers” for their team. As the “Team Volunteers” will be the
first to be allowed in by the gym supervisor, we need to have interested
parents complete the registration for that and be in place as soon as possible.
To be a designated Team Volunteer, you would log into your account, click the
Volunteer tab on the left, then click Find Volunteer Roles and then click Team
Volunteer. It just takes a few minutes. Teams cannot practice without this.
The
designated “Team Volunteers” will check their arriving team in and as soon as
practice is over, they are responsible for the wipe down of any areas excluding
the actual court used by their team and team attendees. The check in includes a
temperature check and a confirmed "no" for 5 COVID questions.
To
lessen COVID risks including contact tracing requirements (and the wipe down of
areas), we will limit attendees for practice to as follows:
-
Players
-
Two
Coaches
-
Two
“Team Volunteers”
-
One
parent for each 9/10YO & Younger player
Note:
No siblings are allowed and no parents for 11/12YO and older groups will be
allowed in the gym .
Any
attendees not as a player or a coach must wear a mask, or they cannot be in the
gym. Coaches need to have a mask in their possession for when they are not
coaching. There is not an exception process for masks.
All
teams must be out of the gym before the next team(s) can come in. We have 15
minutes between the stop of a practice before the next one starts. Teams should
not arrive early.
Note
for Team Volunteers: There will be a supervisor at each practice. They will
provide the temperature checkers and a laminated card with the 5 questions. The
supervisors will have the cleaning supplies too.
Please
note that after registration, we were given a form from WCPR that requires sign
off by each parent. We will address this separately.
We
sincerely appreciate your support. We understand the above may not be ideal but
is necessary for everyone’s safety.
