Below are the current requirements we have for safety with our basketball program:
1.
Temperature
checks (MUST be less than 99.9) will be required upon entrance into a facility and the standard COVID-19
questions you will see in our registration and you hear at a doctor’s office
will be asked prior to gym entrance.
a.
Each
team must provide a team parent to assist in these checks.
2.
Game
end time to the next start time will be spaced 30 minutes apart. This will
allow participants and supporters to leave a gym before the next teams come in
for their games. Games typically last 35 to 50 minutes.
a.
We
reserve the right to adjust the game schedule based on cooperation to clear the
gyms following the games.
b.
Participants and fans may enter no
sooner than 15 minutes prior to the game start time. Participant entry to be
prioritized before fans.
c.
All attendees must depart the gym
within 10 minutes of their end time.
3.
Practice
end time to next start time will be spaced apart, probably by 15 minutes. This
will allow participants and supporters to leave before the next teams come in
for their practices.
a.
We
reserve the right to adjust the game schedule based on cooperation to clear the
gyms following the games.
b.

a.
No
entrance will be allowed until cleaning is complete and the temperature check
process can be set up.
5.
Attendance
will have limits, meaning who can attend will be limited.
a.
At 11/12YO and older, the only attendees
at practice will be players, registered coaches and one team parent.
b.
We are still reviewing what will be
allowed at 9/10YO and younger.
6.
How we approach seating for teams and
fans is still being considered but we will have those details before we start.
7.
Only registered players can
participate in practice sessions. Only registered players and coaches can sit
on the bench.
8.
Face
masks or coverings will be required at all times, excluding those who are
actively participating on the court. We do not have a mask wearing exception
process.
9.
Cleaning materials and approach are
still being developed. We received good feedback and ideas from the schools
this week and will be working with WCPR on the best solution for how to.
10. Each team must have a minimum of two designated
parents identified prior to the start of practices that will be responsible to
assist our gym supervisors for three activities:
a.
To assist with entrance requirements –
temp checks, questions
b.
To ensure your team and fans are
wearing masks
c.
To assist in cleaning (sanitizing used
areas) after games and practices
11. Team
meetings after games and practices must occur outside the gym.
12. During
game and practice huddles must be spaced a part.
13. There
will be no handshake lines, high fives, etc.
14. There
will be no food or drinks other than water allowed in the gyms.
15. The head coach or one of the assistant coaches
must be designated to keep our club up to date on any COVID-19 related issues
(i.e. positive test, quarantines, etc.) for their team that occur within
basketball, school, etc.
16. Teams
can have no more than two coaches on the bench per game. Coaching staffs must
include a parent for the team and the second coach must be at least 18 years of
age.
As
updates occur to this list, we will share with our coaches and parents.
