What you need to know for the upcoming basketball season

The Rules of Play link on our website contains our rules and can be found here.  The club is responsible to provide score keepers and score board operators for every game at our home gyms (Brentwood Middle School, Crockett Elementary School, Edmondson Elementary School and Lipscomb Elementary School). Unless we receive changes this year we are unaware of, these paid employees will receive a rules summary sheet to help them. You can find this under the links section of our website or click here.

The club pays for a gym monitor from WCPR at every practice and game. The gym monitor is in place to ensure the gym is safe and all attendees act responsibly. We are responsible for leaving the gym as clean as it was before we arrived. If you leave paper or drop a wrapper or leave a drink, etc., we have to pick it up. The same applies for game day.

While our 5/6YOs won’t have a tournament, they do shoot three throws for points at halftime of every game. This can be exciting.

Player uniforms will be reversible with numbers on front, back and both (reversible) sides. The home team will always wear the white side of the uniforms. 

We have ordered the sizes entered by parents during registration with two exceptions. Our uniform manufacturer does not supply Youth Extra Small and Youth Extra Large. For those that noted those sizes, we substituted Youth Small and Adult Small, respectively. Once we print, we cannot return the shirts.

Referees are provided by WCPR. They are human and will make mistakes. Be kind.

Our head coaches are volunteers. Thank them throughout the season.

The website is set up to send reminders for upcoming practices and games. If you are not receiving these, log into your account. Click the crayon icon to the right of your player’s name and update or add your email address. You may also view your team’s schedule on your team’s webpage. Move your mouse on our website to Team Central, Team Directory. Find your team and click the calendar.

We will score all games and we plan to enter all player scoring in the website to assist us next year in player ratings. We will also recognize high scorers each week on our website.

And considering we keep score, remember regardless of the age group, this is youth basketball. Encourage and cheer.
